Stream Restoration has developed a public-private partnership effort with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, BioMost, Inc., Hedin Environmental, and Earthtech, Inc., in order to provide technical assistance to watershed groups to develop specific operation and maintenance plans for individual passive treatment systems to maximize their life and encourage long-term sustainable treatment of abandoned mine drainage.

The multi-talented interdisciplinary team consists of professional geologists, environmental scientists, biologists, ecologists, survey crews, CAD technicians, and professional engineers. The team includes participants that have been involved in the successful design, construction, system evaluation, operation and maintenance, research, development, and problem-solving aspects of passive treatment systems for over a decade. Assessment of Passive Treatment Systems
If you are in need of an Operation and Maintenance Plan we can perform an assessment of your passive treatment system to determine how it is functioning through water sampling and data analysis.

Inventory and Evaluation of Operation & Maintenance Problem Areas
During the development of the Operation and Maintenance Plan, we will inventory and evaluate current and potential problem areas of your passive treatment system to develop a long-term comprehensive plan.

"As-Built" Surveys
If you currently do not have an "As-Built" survey and one is necessary for the development of an effective Operation and Maintenance Plan, a survey and "As-Built" drawing will be completed.

Operation and Maintenance Plans
We can develop site-specific Operation and Maintenance Plans for passive treatment systems that currently do not have one. These plans will typically consist of inspection forms and detailed instructions and drawings on when and how to maintain your passive treatment system.

Interactive Web-based Database for Water Quality and O&M Data
A website with forms and specific Operation & Maintenance Plans that can be viewed and downloaded will be available for all to use. In addition, this interactive web-based database will allow groups to download and upload data related to passive treatment systems, streams, and the operation and maintenance for your site as well as others.
